X-Men Days Of Future Past has another member, according to Director Bryan Singer who has once more taken to Twitter to tease further details of the forthcoming sequel. He has officially announced that French actor Omar Sy, who starred in the excellent The Intouchables, has joined the cast, following on from his social media announcement of Peter Dinklage's addition to the project. Naturally, the internet is now awash with speculation as to who Sy will play, with the favourite emerging as mutant Bishop, which would certainly fit with the time travel element of Days Of Future Past, even though he didn't debut until ten years after its initial publication. He certainly fits the bill for the character, especially as he could potentially bring something similar to the role as Idris Elba, whose association with other comic book movies probably rules him out of ever being cast as Bishop. There's also the possibility that Sy will play an all new character - and possibly a French one given the potential pit-falls of his accent, but time will tell. The Days Of Future Past cast is now beginning to take real shape with Sy joining an already bumper list of stars including Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore and Peter Dinklage, the Bryan Singer-directed film will hit theaters on July 18, 2014. Based on Chris Claremont and John Brynes classic alternative storyline of the same name, X-Men: Days of Future Past will merge together characters from the original X-Men trilogy and the 2011 prequel X-Men: First Class and is officially the seventh film in the franchise. The film will primarily be set in 1973, ten years after the events of X-Men: First Class which ended with the culmination of the Cuban Missile Crisis.
