18. The Decapitated Boy

Ben's first encounter with Pennywise happens when he goes to the library to read about Derry's history, and learns of an Easter egg hunt that turned tragic when an explosion killed almost 100 children.

As Ben flicks through the book, he sees a disturbing picture of a child's severed head high up in the trees, and when he follows Pennywise's balloon into the library's basement, he meets a vision of the decapitated boy, who chases Ben back out of the basement before briefly turning back into Pennywise.

Because a boy getting his arm ripped off isn't enough violence against children for act one alone, here's a headless kid stumbling around. WTF indeed.
