4. Mrs Kersch - Joan Gregson

It's character projections are a real mixed bag in Chapter 2. Some of them end up being way too cartoonish and somewhat hampered by poor effects, but Mrs Kersch is the best of them by some distance. Well, apart from the main eventer, anyway.

She stars in a sequence showing the kids going back to find their totem items (artefacts) to destroy in he Ritual of CHUD and terrorises Beverly in a scene that is part Get Out (when she stares vapidly), part Harry Potter (the Nagini sequence in The Deathly Hallows) and part creepy It masterclass. Seeing her move around unnaturally and naked is just horrifying and while she loses something when she goes full cartoon version, she's one of the most lasting hauntings of the whole film.

Why almost her entire part had to be shown in the bloody trailer is a mystery. Though, actually, it'll be because it was scary and Warner Bros wanted to sell the fact that they were still going for that in the sequel. As if anyone would have NOT seen this movie based on that dumb assumption.
