It only seems like yesterday that Regé-Jean Page’s name was red hot to be the next 007. Though still a popular choice for the part, interest in Regé’s services has seemingly cooled as other names have grabbed the headlines in recent weeks and months. However, he shouldn’t be ruled out as a serious contender to take up the mantle next. By breaking Page down as a potential candidate for the job, it’s easy to see how the Waterloo Road alumni’s consideration became inevitable.

At 34 years old, he lands slap-bang in the middle of Barbara Broccoli’s idyllic age bracket for any actor playing Bond, and - let’s be frank - he’s not a bad-looking chap, is he? Good looks are compulsory for the titular character as history dictates. He’s someone whom every woman wants to be with, and every man wants to be, but there needs to be more to the character than just cool quips and quick wit, and Regé can certainly provide this.

The Bridgerton breakout is still making waves in his career, but he's built up and developed a thirst for action that only helps his chances, should he be interested, rather than hindering them. His work within Mortal Engines, The Gray Man and the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons movie showcase this. He’s armed with a contagious charm for sure, and Regé would undoubtedly attract audiences to see him on the big screen. Should Bond not appeal to Jean Page, Kevin Feige will have him snapped up in no time.
