James Bond: 8 Movies You Need To See To Understand Spectre

6. Quantum Of Solace

Although it was one of the most disappointing entries in the franchise (and the biggest misstep of the Daniel Craig era), there's an important reason why Quantum of Solace is included on this list€”the introduction of the organization called Quantum. Bond fans were excited when in Casino Royale, the mysterious Mr. White tells Le Chiffre, "Money isn't as valuable to our organisation as knowing who to trust," and then guns him down. Did this mean the return of SPECTRE? Jesper Christensen's Mr. White is pretty much the textbook example of a Bond villain, after all. But then Quantum Of Solace came and we discovered Mr. White worked for Quantum. And though they seemed very SPECTRE-esque, their choice of operatives like Dominic Greene left a lot to be desired. It's been confirmed by screenwriters Neal Purvis and Robert Wade that Quantum will be revealed as a division within SPECTRE, with Mr. White returning (as shown in the trailer, delivering the great line "You are a kite dancing in a hurricane, Mr. Bond").
