Jamie Dornan: 10 Previous Roles You May Have Missed
3. The Fall
The big time for Dornan, in that hed finally found a role where he got to show off his acting talents, as well as a darker side many had yet to realise he even had in him. Serial killer Paul Spector is - perhaps worryingly telling of what kind of film the adaptation is - the part that probably got producers looking at Dornan for Fifty Shades. BBCs The Fall is one of the best shows to come out of the UK in the last few years, a gripping procedural centred around Gillian Andersons detective on the hunt for a serial killer preying on the women of Belfast, though its not Anderson but Dornan who makes the biggest impact. The Fall features quite easily the actor's best performance to date, making use of those slightly too-menacing eyes and the smouldering intensity that seems to be hiding be hiding behind the more pleasant façade.
Lover of film, writer of words, pretentious beyond belief. Thinks Scorsese and Kubrick are the kings of cinema, but PT Anderson and David Fincher are the dashing young princes. Follow Brogan on twitter if you can take shameless self-promotion: @BroganMorris1
