Live Free or Die Hard/Die Hard 4.0 is only two months away now but some more disappointing news has come in about the flick. A reader for
AICN has told the site that June's issue of Vanity Fair states that the movie has been slapped with a PG-13 rating, and not the usual R-Rating that the previous 3 Die Hard movies had. And according to the magazine,
Bruce Willis is pissed...
"In June's VANITY FAIR, it states that Bruce Willis was initially disappointed that his fourth DIE HARD film will likely be cut to get a PG-13 rating rather than an R. 'I really wanted this one to live up to the promise of the first one, which I always thought was the only really good one.' And he's not happy about it. 'That's a studio decision that is becoming more and more common, because they're trying to reach a broader audience. It seems almost a courageous move to give a picture an R rating these days. But we still made a pretty hardcore, smashmouth film.'"
Die Hard a PG-13? Not good. Die Hard 4 should not be made for teenagers, please tell me that is not what you have done with your franchise. It's a real stupid move if you have, because the whole reason your making a new movie is because the first three was so popular and made you a shit load of cash.... which were rated r-movies as well don't forget! Not to mention the fanbase the franchise will have gathered from DVD sales since the last movie in 1995 and hell since the original in 1988. You will have second generation fans, along with those who loved the first movie when it came out... you are being idiots by watering down your product, which is what I'm lead to speculate. I know I have gone on and on and on about how many mistakes they are making with Die Hard 4 over the last couple of months but it's not because I want the movie to fail. I desperately want it to succeed but I see no way it can. There are far to many things wrong with this project.
