Johnny Depp: 5 Awesome Performances & 5 That Sucked

This probably isn't the worst film to ever receive a Golden Globe nomination for Best Picture (it was in the often-odd Musical or Comedy category to be fair), but it's certainly one of the weirdest examples in recent years. Or at least it is until you remember that it has two bonafide A-listers, and the Globes is often beholden to celebrity.

A good cast doesn't make a good film, and neither Depp nor co-star Angelina Jolie come out of this one particularly well, as a pair of characters who meet on a train travelling through Europe, allegedly offering a blend of romance, comedy, and thriller.

The film suffers from not quite knowing what it wants to be, with the direction not deft enough to handle both drama and comedy, nor romance and thriller. The leads obviously suffer from a sense of that as well, as there's a lack of chemistry between the pair, with a performance from Depp that just feels rather dull - not something you can often say about his roles, good or bad.
