Jojo Rabbit Review: 7 Ups & 2 Downs
1. Its Totally Unforgettable Ending
No spoilers here of course, but you'll likely leave Jojo Rabbit both beaming with joy and wiping tears from your face.
Its ending is entirely emblematic of the mood Waititi clearly wanted to create throughout: a condemnation of the Nazis' impact on the world and also a celebration of humanity prevailing above it all.
Some may find its final moments a little too cute for their own good, but between an hilariously unexpected closing action beat and how skilfully Waititi generally manages to navigate the tonal mindfield, it's easy to forgive.
Needless to say, once the movie hits VOD, there are going to be a lot of GIFs made out of a certain moment that occurs in the final minutes of the film. You'll know it when you see it.
