9. Vince Vaughn
His Role In the Trilogy: Nick van Owen, the photographer and environmentalist who was part of the team sent to Isla Sorna by John Hammond in The Lost World. In the Years That Followed: After appearing in projects like the misguided Psycho remake and Tarsem Singh's The Cell, Vaughn really cracked through the comedy mainstream when he appeared in Old School, which paved the way for a slew of roles in comedy films like Dodgeball, Anchorman and its sequel, Starsky & Hutch and Wedding Crashers, though his streak wound down after a string of duds like Fred Claus, Four Christmases, The Watch and The Internship. As of 2015: Though he's not done with comedy, having starred in Unfinished Business earlier this year, Vaughn swung for something dark again by appearing in the second season of True Detective this past summer. On the way, he's continuing the dramatic run with turns in Mel Gibson's war drama Hacksaw Ridge and Term Life, the story of a man whose built a career on bidding off heists hes planned being forced to go on the run after one turns sour, putting a target on his back that he must dodge for 21 days until his estranged daughter can collect on a pending life insurance policy he takes out on himself.
