Justice League: 10 Dumb Plot Holes That Derailed The Film

6. The Mother Box/Cyborg Conundrum

Victor Stone (AKA Cyborg) makes his first appearance in the Justice League as the team's least charismatic member. Aside from generally being forgettable and a bit of a stick in the mud, however, his backstory also makes no sense.

Consider the "origin" story that Stone is given in Justice League, where it's explained that he was able to transform into his weird robot form after a terrible accident because of the Mother Box. The Mother Box had been in the possession of his father, Silas Stone, who was trying to figure out how to harness its power.

It's then we're told the Mother Box which transformed Stone did so when Superman died, which seems fairly plausible until you go back to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. In that movie, see, there's a sequence where Bruce Wayne surveys some security footage... which shows Victor being transformed into Cyborg.

The problem here is that at this point in Batman v Superman, Superman isn't dead yet, and said Mother Box is yet to awaken. Which means either Cyborg is a liar or the writers decided they didn't care about continuity. It's most likely the latter.
