Justice League: 10 Questions None Of The Trailers Have Answered

1. Why Is Batman Missing In Action?

The first Justice League trailer set the scene in the wake of Superman's death. It's a 'world without hope' where crime is running rampant and the universe's heroes seem to be off the radar.

But this begs the question of why Batman is neglecting his crimefighting duties. The Man of Steel's sacrifice is supposed to have inspired Bruce Wayne to be a better man - he's not exactly doing that by allowing chaos to reign in the streets.

Perhaps Bats is struggling to balance his vigilante duties with the process of assembling the Justice League, but wouldn't it be more in keeping with the character for him to apportion his time and resources appropriately?

Maybe Superman's sacrifice convinced Bruce that he doesn't need to be Batman any more. It inspired him to focus inwardly and work on himself to the point where he no longer has to hide behind a cape and cowl?

Hopefully there's a good explanation for the lack of Bat vigilantism at the beginning of the movie, because the Caped Crusader would never allow crime to spiral out of control, no matter what else was on his plate.
