Justice League: 10 Things That Have Threatened To Ruin The Hype
5. The Early Cut News
In the case of most films, if an early, unfinished cut screens to test audiences (or studio executives and behind-camera talent), you don't hear about it. You certainly don't hear that any problems picked up were then desperately addressed with expensive "fixing" work (it can happen, but you tend to only hear about it way down the line when the story of production comes out).
For Justice League, it was different, as Batman-On-Film revealed that a source had told them that the early cut was "unwatchable" and had led to substantial changes:
“These reshoots – which are still taking place – are not standard pick-ups/additional photography. Why? Apparently, an early cut of the film was deemed “unwatchable.” Thus, substantial changes to the film were ordered.”
No matter what the reality of those reshoots was, as soon as that buzzword hit the net, it was like nectar to cynics who wanted the film buried before it even comes out. And searching it as a keyword alongside Justice League proves how quickly it went viral.
