2. Jean Loring
Who? The ex-wife of Ray Palmer, AKA The Atom, and perhaps the most unlikely DC supervillain in recent memory. Jean Loring longed to be with ex-husband again, and she knew exactly how to do it: threaten the lives of superheroes' families.
Why We Won't See Him... Unfortunately for the DCU, what started out as a plan to mostly maim and scare ended in the deaths of Sue Dibny, Jack Drake, and the original Captain Boomerang. The ensuing panic and paranoia pushed heroes away from crime fighting and towards their homes. Imagine a Christopher Nolan-produced Justice League movie that plays out more like a psychological thriller (a DC Whos Whodunit, if you will!) than blockbuster explosion-fest. It would ensure that, despite the super-heroic spectacle, the script remained in Nolans realm of emotionally plausible performances. Unfortunately, Marvels Avengers film has set the standard for the comic super-team genre. By all accounts, DC is looking to mirror the successful formula set forth by Earths Mightiest Heroes, which means were probably going to get something relatively safe and predictable: big baddies, big explosions, and big fanboy pandering.
