Justice League also introduces fans to J.K. Simmons' version of Commissioner Gordon, who has a few brief interactions with Batman and the League.

While Gordon's appearance is disappointingly minimal, it nevertheless sets up a potentially far more engaging dynamic between the two in Matt Reeves' Batman movie.

This is especially crucial as rumours ahead of Batman v Superman's release suggested that Gordon was going to be dead before the DCEU even started, but that clearly isn't the case.

Gordon and Batman's DCEU relationship hasn't exactly hit the ground running here, but at least their rapport is quickly established so that The Batman can explore it in much greater depth.
