Justice League: 10 Ways It Sets Up The Future Of The DCEU

Superman has been by far the most problematic aspect of the DCEU so far, his dour, mopey, sad sack personality being derided by most fans as too stark a contrast from his sunnier, more hopeful disposition in the comics.

This was especially troubling in Batman v Superman, as he spent most of the movie scowling and looking p***ed off, before dying while a large quarter of the fanbase simply shrugged their shoulders.

Though Bruce Wayne's claim in Justice League that Superman was "a beacon of hope to the world" is undeniably laughable, at least by film's end it does feel like fans finally have something approaching a more conventional portrait of the character.

With his knowingly cornball lines ("I'm a fan of truth, but I'm also a big fan of justice") and, well, the fact he actually smiles this time around, Superman has been neatly resurrected and rebooted all at the same time, leaving many fans optimistic for the future of the character, be it Man of Steel 2 or Justice League 2 that comes next.
