Every list needs a wildcard entry and this is mine. Katharine Isabelle is a relatively little known actress who is mostly associated with horror flicks. Ginger Snaps, Freddy Vs Jason, American Mary - all of them are gore-fests that are a far cry from a superhero movie. So what is it that would make her suitable for the role of such a high-profile heroine?

Well, Isabelle has the uncanny ability to appear both charming and bad-ass at the same time and it's about time she got a major breakthrough role, because she's very talented. She also has links to Christopher Nolan, having appeared (albeit in a brief role) in 2002's brilliant Insomnia alongside the likes of Al Pacino, Robin Williams and Hilary Swank. The odds of her being considered are impossibly long, but she'd do a job.
