Justice League: 6 Major Changes The DCEU Is Making To Fix Itself

4. They've "Accelerated" The Justice League Story

When Warner Bros first laid down the outline for the DCEU, Justice League was originally going to be a two-parter interspersed among the standalones, but some time in early 2016 that all went quiet, until it was swiftly confirmed by Deborah Snyder that her and Zack would be putting all their efforts into this one film.

The reasoning seemed obvious - course correction, with the company not too sure if former boy Snyder could actually deliver the goods - and while that seems to be the case somewhat, the ways Johns tells it there's a more thematic argument to be made:

“[We] accelerated the [Justice League] story to get to the hope and optimism a little faster.”

With Johns' previous statements, this feels pretty much a necessary move. If Justice League was conceived as being a complete continuation of Man Of Steel and Batman V Superman, it'd have that same grimy tone infused through it, something that needed to be nixed. One worry here is that it means we'll see Clark Kent back sooner than would be suitable, but if this is cheery Supes I can live with it.
