Justice League: 6 Major Changes The DCEU Is Making To Fix Itself

3. It'll Atone For Batman V Superman

There was a lot of objectionable character moments in Batman V Superman that go directly against what those icons represent; most obviously Batman killing (and, crucially, not just in the Knightmare sequence), but there's so much in the character's attitude and approach to crimefighting that doesn't ring quite true.

This was one of my biggest fan problems with Dawn Of Justice; it wasn't just bad, it left the DCEU is a pretty poor place that any future movies would be weakened by. Thankfully, it sounds like Justice League will be putting paid to these iffy creative choices:

“[It] directly address Batman’s extreme actions in [Batman V Superman], such as torturing criminals and nearly killing the Man Of Steel, rather than accept them as par for the course.”

Cool, yes, but doesn't it sound a little familiar? That's because we've been here before; the same atoning for the previous disappointment's sins was banded about an awful lot with Batman V Superman. Is that what we're stuck with now? A revolving door of movies each promising they won't hurt us like the last one? Let's hope the corrections stick this time.
