Justice League Reviews: 12 Early Reactions You Need To See

9. It's Just Adequate

In one of the most damning bits of faint praise - which is echoed in spirit across a number of reviews - Variety say that Justice League is functional without really being exceptional in any way:

"The film is the definition of an adequate high-spirited studio lark: no more, no less."

And they go further, with a quote that definitely won't be appearing on the posters or in the critics' trailer:

"As a piece of product, Justice League is “superior” to Batman v Superman, but it’s also about as close to generic as a sharp-witted high-octane comic-book movie can get. There’s hardly a trope in it you haven’t seen before."

Sufficiently uninspired?
