Zack Snyder cast Kiersey Clemons as Iris West in Justice League, but Joss Whedon completely cut her from the theatrical cut. It could be because The Flash movie had been through half a dozen filmmakers by that point, and Clemons was no longer guaranteed to reprise the role (recently, there have even been rumours that Warner Bros. is looking for another actress to play the intrepid reporter).

Regardless, she's back for the Snyder Cut, and just like footage which leaked online a couple of years ago indicated, Barry Allen will race into action to save his future wife from a scary looking car crash.

The way she looks at the Fastest Man Alive lays the groundwork for them to become romantically involved down the line and offers a much better look at the Flash's powers than the theatrical version ever did. If The Flash movie does cast another Iris, then chances are this moment won't matter much, but it's unclear at this point which version of Justice League will be considered canon.
