12. Jackson's Death Stare

Having initially been a fan of any military expedition that meant he didn't have to go home after the Vietnam War, Packard's transformation into full-blown Captain Ahab is great to watch. It's also one of the most excruciatingly cheesy character arcs ever, as he turns from hardened veteran into sassy minx.

The crowning moment of that sassy evolution comes after Kong has smushed all of the helicopters and his men lie dying or dead across the jungle. Packard stands furiously glowering at the monkey, trying to stare Kong down, and clenching his fists, as if we needed such a visual representation that he'd be upset with him killing everyone or setting them on fire.

Dude, one of your men - who you claim to be so utterly committed to that you'd risk the rest of their lives to save one - is literally on fire and you're not even looking. You could literally save him right now, and you'd be less angry at Kong for killing one more victim.
