Kong: Skull Island Trailer: 8 Things You Might Have Missed
6. The Familiar Faces
One of the most exciting things about Kong: Skull Island is the extremely varied ensemble cast. We've got Oscar-winner Brie Larson alongside a pair of renowned character actors in John Goodman and Samuel L. Jackson, topped off with fan-favourite Tom Hiddleston and the regularly hilarious John C. Reilly.
But there are some other talented folks in this trailer too - some you may recognize but not be able to place, while others may have completely gone unnoticed.
First up is Toby Kebbell, who can first be seen uttering the award-worthy line "is that a monkey?" and again later as he stares into that demonic-looking hole in the ground. You'll know Kebbell from the abysmal Fantastic Four reboot, the abysmal Ben-Hur remake, and the rather good Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, where he strapped on the mo-cap suit and delivered a performance as Koba.
Next, Skull Island is touting a pair of Straight Outta Compton alums; Corey Hawkins, who played Dr. Dre in the latter film, and Jason Mitchell, who played Eazy-E. Hawkins plays the scientist who mentions the "scientific instruments", while Mitchell appears to play a helicopter pilot and can be seen being dragged through the water toward the trailer's end.
