Magneto's 10 Greatest Movie Moments

4. The Coin Meets Forehead Kill - X-Men: First Class (2011)

For a brief moment it looked like Kevin Bacon was making a bit of a comeback, and nowhere else was this more apparent that in this movie. In First Class he played Sebastian Shaw, the nemesis of the previous villain of the franchise, Magneto. Shaw was undoubtedly cool, but he also put Magneto through quite an ordeal. As a mutant with the ability to absorb almost any type of energy and transform it into raw strength, he was a scientist working for the Nazis during WWII. He was there in the concentration camp where a young Erik Lehnsherr's mutant powers first manifested. and tried to get the young boy to use his powers, but to no avail. All this culminates in him threatening to shoot Erik€™s mother if he doesn€™t move a small gold coin made out of Nazi gold by the time he counted to three. When he fails to do so, Shaw executes his mother. Brutal. Well, ultimately future Magneto gets his revenge. . Finally cornered by Magneto and frozen in place by Xavier, the former rams the same Nazi coin all the way through his skull, giving him an extremely brutal lobotomy. So much for mutant unity, right?
