3. An Epic Superman/Zod Showdown
We've seen some pretty decent Superman/General Zod showdowns in live action entertainment throughout history - the memorable Christopher Reeve/Terence Stamp encounters in the early
Superman movies and the numerous confrontations between Tom Welling and Callum Blue in
Smallville spring to mind. What we haven't seen is the two Kryptonians really letting loose on each other, exhibiting their strength and speed to the absolute optimum, and that's what we really
want to see. In the comics, when these two have fought in the past, the very planet around them has been destroyed as a consequence of their battle. We want to see something similar (albeit on a smaller scale - we don't want Earth getting destroyed) in the comics. Superman should either evacuate a city or lure Zod (Michael Shannon) to somewhere unpopulated and the two should beat the hell out of each other - Kryptonian style. The impact of punches between these two warriors should send out shock-waves that tear buildings down. They should be fighting so fast that everything else around them appears to be stationary and we have to watch it in slow motion. We want to see them throwing cars and buildings at each other. They should blast each other with heat vision blasts. Essentially - particularly in order to improve on the classic Reeve/Stamp encounter - these two need to go to town on each other in a way that has never been seen on screen before! So let's hope this fight delivers!
