Man Of Steel: How To Easily Fix Snyder's 10 Biggest Mistakes

4. Irresponsibility

destructionThe Problem One of the biggest problems I had with this movie is that Superman has almost no regard for property or innocent bystanders. When the Kryptonians arrive on the Kent farm, Superman charges in and drags Zod away, punching him in rage€but instead of putting this fight in the middle of the fields, away from Martha, he drags him into town, blowing up a gas station. Superman literally brings the fight right to where there€™s more potential for innocent people to die. And then this responsibility is seen again when Superman destroys Zod€™s ship over Metropolis, but we never see him try to use his powers to move the crashing ship away from property. He just takes it down and lets it fall where it may. The Fix I€™ve seen some people claim €œwell the city was evacuated!€ and I call bull on that. There is still no major plan for evacuating all of New York and it€™s questionable whether or not it€™s even possible, so no, the city wasn€™t evacuated. While all this destruction is going on, we need to see Superman multitasking. A great scene in Superman Returns is when he€™s flying all over the city, trying to contain the destruction and save as many people as possible. That€™s what Superman needs to be doing, he needs to take responsibility for all these innocent people.
