Marvel Cinematic Universe: 10 Best Female Villains

1. Aida

MCu Villains
ABC

Appeared In: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Whereas Jiaying changed the landscape of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. by kicking off the spread of Inhumans, Holden Radcliffe's subservient LMD turned psychotic synthetic human caused far more direct damage to the team itself. Initially, Aida was a likable assistant, but once corrupted by the Darkhold, she believed she deserved to become human and trapped most of the team - except for Daisy and Simmons, who found their own way in later - in the Framework.

Her actions and manipulations outside and inside of the Framework, which housed an alternate reality where she had become Madame Hydra, led to the deaths of Holden Radcliffe and Jeffrey Mace and psychologically screwed up everyone else, particularly Mack, who had been given a new life with the daughter he had lost, and Fitz, who now has to live with the fact he "killed" Agnes Kitsworth. Even once everyone left was out of the Framework and she had gotten her wish - a real body and real emotions - she couldn't handle the fact that no amount of meddling could make Fitz love her in the real world the way he loves Simmons, and set out to make the team pay until Coulson, who had taken the Spirit of Vengeance from Robbie Reyes, destroyed her.

Mallory Jansen truly crushed her role during the fourth season, making Aida a compelling villain it was hard not to feel sorry for even as we eagerly anticipated her downfall for all she had done, and the character's impact and legacy will undoubtedly continue to be felt moving forward.
