1. The Infinity Stones

It wasn't just the Infinity Gauntlet that ended up being retconned in the MCU. When the Tesseract was introduced in Captain America: The First Avenger, it was just a renamed Cosmic Cube and treated as such in The Avengers. However, Thor: The Dark World would finally confirm that it was, in fact, one of the Infinity Stones.

The sceptre Loki wielded in The Avengers was also revealed to be the Mind Stone, and ultimately used to create The Vision in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Surprisingly, this all worked really well, but Marvel Studios would later use them to deliver an even bigger retcon in regards to the God of Mischief.

An officially released bio for the character explained that Loki wielding the sceptre actually caused him to act in a villainous manner in the 2012 movie, explaining why he mercilessly killed innocent people in The Avengers before being portrayed as an anti-hero in Thor: The Dark World and Thor: Ragnarok.

However, if Avengers: Endgame was any indication, he'll soon be back to his villainous self...
