Marvel Cinematic Universe: 10 Heroes Nobody Thought Of Adding Yet (But Who Would Be Awesome)

5. Spider-Woman

Jessica Drew Spider Woman Rather surprisingly, given all the furore about Spider-Man potentially making the switch from the Columbia Pictures movies to the MCU Avengers roster (as unlikely as that is), there hasn't really been any mention of using his female counterpart instead. There have been a number of Marvel Comics characters who have gone by the name Spider-Woman, but for this entry we'll be focusing on Jessica Drew - arguably the most well-known version and the one whom it would be easier to introduce, thanks to her affiliation with the likes of S.H.I.E.L.D and the Avengers. Jessica was born with her powers after her mother was struck with a beam of radiation containing the DNA of several different types of spiders while Jessica was a foetus. As a result Jessica developed superhuman abilities patterned after several different types of spiders. These powers include superhuman strength, speed and agility, fear-inducing pheromone generation, wall-crawling abilities, the ability to shoot beams of bio-electric energy from her hands and resistance to all poisons and radiations. In the comics, she was recruited by HYDRA (who already exist in the MCU) but, upon learning of their true nature, she quit. She would then go on to have numerous encounters with the likes of S.H.I.E.L.D and would ultimately be persuaded in to the joining the Avengers by Captain America himself. Drew would in no way be a poor replacement for Spider-Man in the MCU. She is every bit as powerful as he is, if not more so, and has a rich and interesting history. She'd be a great live action Avenger.
