Marvel Cinematic Universe: Every Project To Be Excited For In 2019 (And Why)

After several years of development, the first season of Cloak & Dagger released over the summer last year, introducing fans to Tyrone "Cloak" Johnson and Tandy "Dagger" Bowen. The New Orleans-set series went through some growing pains as it found its footing, but ultimately standing confident by the end of its run, pleasing critics and fans alike while having a world of potential ahead for where it can go next.

Shortly before the season concluded, Freeform renewed the series for a second go-round, and though a release date has yet to be set aside from the vague "early 2019," production has been in full swing since October. Unsurprisingly, plot details are scarce, most likely until Freeform decides to drop a trailer for the season, but based on how season one ended, life won't continue to be easy for the two heroes-in-the-making.

Aside from the fact that Tyrone is still wanted by the police and in hiding, Brigid O'Reilly emerged in the first season's final moments having survived being shot by Connors but mutated into the villainous Mayhem, who is undoubtedly going to cause a number of problems for our heroes - and New Orleans - pretty quickly. With the groundwork for all these characters' introductions now out of the way, season two can get the ball rolling right off the bat and start heading off into darker, weirder territory that'll certainly reward fans of Cloak & Dagger's debut season.
