Marvel Cinematic Universe: Every Project To Be Excited For In 2019 (And Why)

3. Spider-Man: Far From Home

Spider Man Homecoming Suit
Marvel Studios/Disney

Release Date: July 5, 2019

This summer's big Spider-Man sequel is shrouded in mystery, and for good reason: As the first film to follow-up whatever happens in Avengers: Endgame, there's a tight lid on exactly what's going down in its narrative. Considering the last time we saw Peter Parker he was turning to dust in front of Tony Stark, it seems obvious - barring some sort of unexpected twist - that The Decimation will be undone so that Peter can continue swinging around New York City.

As for what we do know, the film will see Peter traveling to Europe, where Jake Gyllenhaal's Quentin "Mysterio" Beck will be entering his life, while Nick Fury and Maria Hill will also be around for the fun. Of course, usual suspects like Peter's best friend Ned and potential love interest MJ will be along for the ride, and even characters like Adrian "Vulture" Toomes and Happy Hogan are returning, but sitting this one out - or so it seems - is Stark himself, which, of course, raises just as many questions about whether he'll be surviving Endgame or not.

Either way, Peter's next outing is sure to be a doozy, shifting the action from New York to a global landscape as Peter does battle with the Elementals, a group of individuals with the power to control - you guessed it - natural elements who may or may not have Mysterio behind them. Since making his MCU debut in 2016's Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man has been a welcome, beloved addition to the franchise, and while all eyes are currently on the impending arrival of Captain Marvel and Endgame first, the hype for his sequel will undoubtedly shoot through the roof once marketing kicks into gear.
