MCU: 10 Best Phase 4 Characters So Far

After a year and a half with absolutely no new MCU content, Disney+ finally welcomed WandaVision to the world. The series put the spotlight on the two titular characters, both of which were utterly incredible, but it also introduced the first new villain to the franchise since Far From Home's Mysterio.

Agatha Harkness is an incredibly powerful witch, and was drawn to Westview by the unprecedented levels of power used by Wanda. She was in possession of the Darkhold, and after seemingly torturing Wanda from afar, confirmed her own suspicions that she was the dreaded Scarlet Witch.

Played by the wonderful Kathryn Hahn, Agatha was hidden in plain sight for seven episodes as Wanda and Vision’s nosy neighbor, Agnes. It may have been the worst kept secret in the MCU, and the reveal wasn’t all that surprising, but it was excellent when she finally took her true form.

Her battle with Wanda over the skies of Westview was an awesome spectacle, and it’s easy to feel a connection with her, as she was genuinely trying to stop Wanda from becoming even more of a threat.

Agatha was almost trying to keep her dark magic in check more than anything. Her MCU return seems all but guaranteed at this point, but if Wanda doesn’t release her from her imprisonment to take some sort of Hannibal Lecter-esque tutor role, it will be a missed opportunity.
