MCU: 10 Big Missed Opportunities

8. Nebula's Revenge

Nebula has had a whirlwind of a journey throughout her time in the MCU. From a secondary antagonist in Guardians of the Galaxy, Gamora's sister has grown through Volume 2 and Infinity War to become an integral part of the Avengers' plan to stop Thanos in Endgame.

Growing up as the adopted daughter of the Mad Titan, Nebula was abused by her father, pulled apart and put back together over and over. At the conclusion of Volume 2, Nebula swears revenge on Thanos, and though she ends up on the winning side, she never really has that moment of closure with her father.

In the comics, Nebula actually wields the infinity gauntlet herself, and uses the stones to defeat Thanos and fix everything he did to her. While she went on to emulate her father in his bid to conquer the universe, she still had that moment of redemption and retribution.

Her arc from Gamora's enemy in her first appearance to hero in Endgame has led her to be a fully fledged member of the Guardians team, but perhaps what would have been a more fitting end would be for Nebula to make the sacrifice and snap everyone back to the world instead of Hulk. Not only would this have allowed her to take the personal payback on Thanos she craved for so long, it would have avoided permanently damaging the Hulk and given him a bigger role in the final battle.
