MCU: 10 Big Missed Opportunities
2. Asgardians Of The Galaxy
The Thor we see in Ragnarok, Infinity War, and Endgame is incredibly different from the character in Age of Ultron and before. Taika Waititi completely revamped the God of Thunder in 2017, and no-one can deny it has been for the better.
During Infinity War, Thor spends some time with the Guardians of the Galaxy on board the Benatar, and journeying to Nidavellir, striking a wonderful relationship with his new friends Rabbit and Tree. This would surely not have clicked with a pre-Waititi Thor, but as it was left fans wanting more of a Guardians - Thor crossover.
At the conclusion of Endgame, Thor again joins the Guardians on the Benatar, engaging in hilarious banter with Peter Quill about who the leader of the team should be. He even uses the phrase 'Asgardians of the Galaxy' himself. Naturally, this led fans to believe the third installment of the Guardians franchise would feature the God of Thunder.
The announcement of Love and Thunder however, has seemingly put any hope of this to bed. By the time Guardians Volume 3 comes around, Thor will have moved on from the Benatar with Valkyrie, Jane Foster, and Korg. Barring a cameo from the entire team at the start of Thor 4, we may have already seen the last of this team up.
