MCU: 10 Fascinating Facts Behind Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
5. Spider-Man Almost Died Quicker
Even on something as huge as Avengers: Infinity War, some improvisation is to be encouraged. Though things you might expect to be ad-libbed - like Wong's tuna melt line - were in the script from day one, other key points were made up on the spot.
Like Spider-Man's death scene, for instance. Or at least the finer details of it. According to Joe Russo and Stephen McFeely, originally, Spidey just died mostly the same as everyone else:
Joe Russo: "If I remember correctly, right, it was, 'I don't feel so good.' Tony looked at him, he said, 'I'm sorry,' and disappeared."
Stephen McFeely: "It wasn't as drawn out."
Apparently, Tom Holland's improvisation went down so well that they gave him more of a chance to shine and more of a chance to pull our still-beating hearts out of our chests and stomp them into the ground.
