4. There Were Almost DRAGONS Involved (And Giant Snakes)

While there is some unfortunate cross-over between Endgame and Game Of Thrones - because of the decision to schedule both of them at the same time, making it far more likely we'll all spend about a week crying - there was almost a far more tangible similarity between the two. Or a far more magical one, anyway.

Obviously in the final film, Peter Dinklage's Eitri forges Stormbreaker, but initial plans wouldn't have included him at all. Instead, one draft called for dragons to be used to forge the mighty weapon. Eventually that badass option was dropped and Eitri was brought in because the loss of his people fit with the rest of Thanos' story better.

The Stormbreaker story almost had another major difference too. Originally, the plan was to send Thor, Rocket and Groot on more of a quest and at one stage it was decided that they would have to face a pair of giant space snakes before coming back to Earth. Again, it's a shame but you can sort of see why they didn't go in that direction.
