4. How The Wire Played A Part

Being the top guy obviously has its perks. For Ed Norton, that meant being able to cast someone whose work he had appreciated to show his gratitude. After being a huge fan of The Wire, Norton cast Michael K Williams for a small role that he wrote specifically for him.

The other writing work that Norton did on the film saw him credited under the pseudonym of 'Edward Harrison' on some posters, but the WGA eventually denied him the credit and only Zak Penn was credited. Sadly for him, that all-but ignored a significant amount of writing.

According to Tim Roth, Norton was rewriting scenes every day and as further reflection of his commitment to adding depth, he and Liv Tyler apparently spent hours discussing their characters' lives before the Hulk came along.
