MCU: 10 Most Shocking Moments In Marvel Movies So Far

5. Fury Survives

Quicksilver Death
Marvel Studios

Samuel L. Jackson has been thrown out of a window as Mace Windu, fended off many motherf**king snakes on motherf**king planes as Neville Flynn and had his head blown off by a teenage spy as Valentine in Kingsman.

And another gory death looked on the cards in The Winter Solider when he ended up in the scope of the titular villain. Bucky Barnes, now the silver-armed assassin, sniped him in his apartment and Captain America and Black Widow appeared to see him pass away as medical professionals attempted to save his life.

But, like Loki and Agent Coulson, Fury wasn’t done. This is a Disney world after all and Disney deaths only last when you're a parent. Jackson’s character merely faked the entire thing and heroes and mere mortals alike were left stunned as he returned to the fold to help bring down HYDRA and the corrupt S.H.I.E.L.D agents.

On screen, he hasn’t been seen much since (aside from the Age Of Ultron cameo), but that should change soon with an Avengers return and Captain Marvel both incoming.

Sport and Film. I love them both. And I'm extremely lucky to write about two of my biggest passions in life. Most of the time, I'm at the Daily Express newspaper writing about football, tennis and F1. But, when I'm out of there, I let my imagination run wild and pen down my thoughts on the film series' I love. WhatCulture gives me the chance to write about the movie industry - an industry I really care about. And for that, I'm extremely grateful. And hope you, if you're reading this, enjoy what I think about stuff.
