6. Most Of The Action Is Totally Forgettable

The generally boring visuals sure don't help the movie deliver many especially memorable action beats, and while none of the film's action would qualify as terrible, most of it feels indifferently directed by Alan Taylor. There are so few eye-catching shots or clever moments ahead of the film's (admittedly quite decent) finale.

The mid-film Asgard assault sequence does deliver some intermittent thrills, but even that's saddled with gross, blurry CGI, and overall it just feels like the set-pieces take a backseat to, well, the goofy comedy gags and terrible romantic interludes.

Thor is a guy who uses a giant hammer to smash his enemies to pieces: it shouldn't be that difficult to create memorable set-pieces for him. Ragnarok did it just fine...
