MCU: 20 Things You Somehow Missed In The Avengers

8. Steve Rogers IS Captain America

When the Avengers were first thrown together in a rush to combat the threat of Loki, it took the team a while to gel. The two biggest cogs that didn't quite line up were Tony Stark and Steve Rogers, arguably the two most important Avengers in history.

To begin with, they just kept clashing heads, with Tony being unable to figure out why his dad never shut up about the Star-Spangled Man when he was growing up. However, through all of that plaudits, Tony was seemingly left with no choice but to have some level of respect for the man.

When he and Steve were arguing about Nick Fury, and that Stark shouldn't be trying to coax the Hulk from out of Banner, the seeds were being sown for a showdown that never ultimately came. But the two didn't like each other, that much was clear.

For all the insults and the pushing and shoving however, Tony still referred to Steve as Captain. There was nothing official about this title, and there was no obligation for him to speak about his new teammate this way. But even when he didn't like the man, he still had to appreciate and respect the mantle. At first, at least.
