1. Tony's Headcount

Obnoxious, self-obsessed, doesn’t play well with others. All were true facts about Tony Stark, so much so that even Pepper Potts couldn’t deny them, and these were the reasons why he was rejected access to the Avengers Initiative to begin with.

When Loki attacked however, Nick Fury had to take what help he could get, and made a make-shift Avengers team with the pieces he had available to him. This gave Tony the opportunity to fight as part of the team, and he acted as the leader.

When he came face to face with Loki, he did a rundown of the team. The demigod, the living legend who lived up to the legend, a man with breathtaking anger issues, and a couple of master assassins. He even mentioned Phil Coulson, but nowhere in his list of reasons why Loki would lose did he name himself.

To say he was self-obsessed and as egotistical as they come, this showed a huge amount of growth from Tony Stark within such a short space of time.
