17. Where Was Loki?
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has always made its post-credit scenes incredibly important. From Nick Fury leaving the shadows in Tony Stark’s house, through to the tease of Hercules being sent after Thor, there have been a mass of these scenes that have had differing effects on the franchise.
One that had essentially no impact on the wider MCU, but has become iconic is the Avengers all going for shawarma after defeating Loki in New York. This was worth a laugh in the cinema, but particularly with Endgame confirming some timeline details, there is a question raised about Loki.
Earth’s Mightiest Heroes surrounded Loki and had him defeated. He was bound by Thor and dragged off to be taken back to Asgard, not before a spot of lunch however, as Thor told Alexander Pierce.
This means that the shawarma scene took place between Loki being caught and Thor taking him back to Asgard. So where was he when the Avengers were chowing down? Thor wouldn’t have trusted anyone else to look after either Loki or the Tesseract, but he is nowhere to be seen in the restaurant, so what happened to him?
