MCU: 8 Hilariously Underrated Comedic Moments
3. Initiating What Now? (Spider-Man: Far From Home)
Peter Parker's attempts to charm MJ in the sequel to Homecoming outdone themselves with each attempted action. They nearly reached its hilarious climax during a school bus ride, in which Parker almost accidentally gets the student's ride blown to pieces.
When Brad Davis, a popular student who competes for MJ's affection, attempts to extort the wall crawler, Peter turns to the artificial intelligence E.D.I.T.H. for help. E.D.I.T.H. labels Brad a target, with Peter's confirmation, but, unbeknownst to him, this entails firing a drone strike at him.
Peter's attempts to cancel the strike incrementally get worse, first by knocking Flash Thompson out, swerving Dimitri's control of the bus out of control to avoid the strike, and distracting the group with imaginary baby mountain goats in order to destroy the drone for good. Peter is eventually able to get things under control, not before seemingly being deduced and complimented on his new look by love birds Ned Leeds and Betty Brant.
Although Peter eventually is able to earn MJ's affection, who also reciprocates her feelings towards him, the events that lead up to this made audiences howl with laughter. Teenage awkwardness can be looked at in retrospect with fondness, only because the things done for love, such as Peter's actions here, can be downright farcical.
