MCU: 9 Best Character Arcs In The Infinity Saga

5. Steve Rogers Battling His Demons

MCU Captain America
Marvel Studios

The first Avenger, with his infallible moral compass and so-called perfect teeth should have had no flaws and therefore no cause for long-standing development. But mercifully enough, things did not remain that simple.

His conviction and nobility found new depth in the Russo Brothers' MCU debut, Captain America: The Winter Soldier. But things got a little more complicated from there-on in. Finding his old friend Bucky Barnes also brought to light some shady revelations. And the Steve Rogers who traversed Captain America: Civil War was far more turbulent, and with his moral standing firmly in question.

And so this gave rise to the more brooding and complex cap of Phase 3, particularly in Infinity War. But it turns out that he was worthy after all. A certain hammer can testify to that. Endgame saw Cap refusing to quit even when all odds were stacked. And when the battle was over, Steve Rogers went back to seeking the only true thing he ever wanted: A dance with Peggy. We can all agree that it was a well-deserved prize.
