8. Doctor Strange - Mordo Turns Evil

In the comics, Baron Mordo is one of Dr Strange's recurring antagonists. Though he was under the Ancient One's tutelage when Stephen Strange arrived on the scene, he soon turned against his mentor and has been an enemy of the Sorcerer Supreme ever since.

Comic fans knew this going into Doctor Strange in 2016, and though Mordo's misgivings were teased throughout the movie, he never properly turned against the titular character. That is, however, until after the credits started rolling.

We then see Mordo visit Jonathan Pangborn, the walking miracle that sent Stephen to find Kamar Taj in the first place. Chiwetel Ejiofor's character sees Pangborn's use of the arts he learned with the Ancient One as stealing power and perverting nature, and proceeds to attack him. This confirms Mordo's full heel turn, and his line about the world having too many sorcerers puts him on a collision course with Strange, well and truly setting him up to be the main antagonist of Doctor Strange 2.

Hopefully this will actually see a payoff, unlike Spider-Man: Homecoming's Vulture and Scorpion tease.
