MCU: Every Phase Three Post Credit Scene Ranked Worst To Best

7. Doctor Strange - Ragnarok Tease

Crossovers and certain characters making appearances across different franchises is nothing new to the MCU. The entirety of phase one built toward this in Avengers Assemble, with Black Widow appearing in Iron Man 2, and Hawkeye in Thor along the way. However, by the time Doctor Strange was released in 2016, we had seen Avengers Assemble, Age of Ultron, and Civil War, and seeing one character pop up in another movie wasn't as exciting as once it had been.

The mid-credit scene of Doctor Strange was different however. We see Doctor Strange in the Sanctum Sanctorum engaged in conversation with an unknown figure, until the camera changes to reveal non other than Thor Odinson. This was a huge surprise, and the first glimpse of the God of Thunder since Age of Ultron.

Not only did this tease the upcoming Ragnarok in a huge way, allowing us a glimpse of at least a part of the story, it confirmed that we would not have to wait long before seeing Benedict Cumberbatch suit up as the Sorcerer Supreme again. This was a credit scene going back to basics and being done very, very well.
