2. Infinity War - Captain Marvel Tease
Avengers Infinity War was a special movie in so many ways. It was the culmination of the previous 18 movies in the MCU franchise, it balanced an unprecedented number of characters, and it brought the most compelling villain since Heath Ledger's Joker to life. One of the biggest difference makers however, was that this villain won.
All through the movie Thanos talks of snapping half of all existence away, and after the epic final showdown and because Thor didn't go for the head, the Mad Titan completes his task. This left audiences speechless and asking the question, what happens next?
We didn't have to wait long for the answer. In the lone post-credit scene, as Nick Fury is disappearing he manages to send a signal to none other than Captain Marvel, as confirmed by the logo on the beeper, and there it was. Could Captain Marvel be the answer to the Avengers' prayers?
Naturally, this raised a lot of questions about the character that would all be answered months later in Carol Danvers' solo movie, but more than anything it built up excitement and expectation for the introduction of a brand new character and what that could mean for Thanos.
