MCU Phase 4: 10 Dead Characters Who Could Return

The Ancient One has always been a very tricky character, and while most of these characters may escape death either through alternate timelines, multiverses or flashbacks, there’s a strong chance The Ancient One just isn’t dead at all.

We see her protecting her sanctuary in the Battle Of New York without interfering showing us the heroes aren’t only active when on screen.

Interestingly, her conversation with Hulk - as well as explaining the idea of replacing the Stones to the audience - reveals a startling truth about Stephen Strange.

Years before she’s met Strange, her ears prick up at his name. She knows of his power and potential, yet she slams the door in his face when he seeks out her help.

This suggests that, much like Strange giving Thanos the Time Stone, she’s putting steps in place for a grand plan. This plan may have included dying; Strange did after all play one of the most crucial roles in Infinity War, even if he’s more of a bit player in Endgame.

Of course, knowing how astute she is at deception and misdirection, she may have simply faked her death to allow Strange to take her place, while she focuses on other important duties.
