MCU Phase 4: 10 Signs It Could Be A Crushing Disappointment
4. What About The X-Men And Fantastic Four?
Understandably, Marvel Studios is putting the X-Men franchise on hold following the failure of Dark Phoenix.
Despite that, elements from the world of mutants do seem to be slowly creeping into the MCU, including Madripoor in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and obscure X-Men character Wiz Kid in Shang-Chi and the Master of the Ten Rings.
It's obviously disappointing that there's no sign of someone like Wolverine in Phase 4, and arguably inexcusable that the Fantastic Four aren't a huge part of a phase that could very easily revolve around them (the number is certainly a good match, anyway).
We are going to see the X-Men and Fantastic Four in the MCU at some point, but Marvel Studios only using the odd location and character is quite the let-down given how excited fans were when the Disney/Fox merger became official and the franchises returned home.
There's also no sign of Deadpool; Fox was pretty terrible, but those movies were a blast, but it looks like we'll be waiting a long time before seeing the Merc with the Mouth and X-Force.
