MCU Phase 4: 10 Things Fans Most Want To See

5. Fox's Marvel Properties

Though the Disney-Fox merger is still awaiting official approval, pending the verdict of the Department of Justice's antitrust division, it looks likely to prevail. There are both positives and negatives to consider (the latter obviously more serious), but for many Marvel fans the chance of seeing either one - or both - of the Fantastic Four and the X-Men interacting with the Avengers is enough to overlook any of its apparent shortcomings.

Of the two, it's the Four who lend themselves better to Marvel's project. They're the comics' first family, and though they've failed more times than the X-Men have when it comes to live action, if anyone can do right by them, it's the House of Mouse.

Both Peyton Reed and James Gunn have spoken of the potential inclusion of the team in recent months, and though they're an unlikely inclusion for Phase 4, with 5 presenting the more likely period for their arrival, there's still a chance. A relatively small one, but a chance none the less.

Then there are the X-Men, who present as many opportunities as they do pitfalls for Marvel to deal with. A considered approach will serve the studio well in this regard, but there's little doubt it'll be worth the wait, as memories of Fox's wasted characters continue to linger.
